Cape Town in 60 seconds………

It’s South Africa’s premier tourist destination and enjoys 60% of the South African tourist market. Because of its colonial influences, it’s cosmopolitan with a mixture of African and European cultures.
It’s been called the “Mother City” and “The tavern of the Seas” After months at sea what else would the sailors call it.
This is where Europe met Africa over 350 years ago.
Cape Town is in Western Province, one of South Africa’s nine provinces. It’s roughly the same size as England but with a population of 3 million.
Table Mountain is one of South Africa’s most famous images; it truly is awesome and provides a magnificent and celebrated setting.
It has beautiful historic wine estates and vineyards.
Robben Island was proclaimed a UN Heritage site in 1999. Nelson Mandela was its most famous inmate.
The Cape Argus Cycle Tour is the largest timed cycle race in the world.
Paarl just outside Cape Town is South Africa's third oldest town and home to KWV Cellars- one of the largest wine cellars in the world (covering 22 hectares).
Some of the World's best land-based whale-watching spots can be found in Hermanus just outside Cape Town.
The CT Scanner was invented by Capetonian Allan McLeod Cormack. He won a Nobel Physics Prize in 1979.
Then there’s the “Cape doctor” and the “Table cloth”.………..some locally well known wind and clouds.
It’s a great place to rent a holiday house or villa. You could be dining on a terrace under oak trees, swimming in a pool of your own, playing golf on fabulous courses around the corner or simply enjoying a standard of living unobtainable in Europe.
